Happy 5 Months Hattie Girl!

This weekend marked Hattie's 5th month.  It's so hard to believe that she's been with our family for that long already.  The time seems to go so much more quickly with her than it did with Owen.  I'm not sure if it's because he was in the NICU or because we know she is our last baby, but the time is just flying by.

Hattie, you are such a smiley, happy girl!  Your teachers tell us almost every day how smiley you are and how everyone knows you by your smile.  You have learned to squeal with delight and now you are giggling too.  We all love trying to make you giggle!

You slept through the night every night this past week!  However, you would go to bed by 5:30PM if we let you!  Most nights we finally give in and put you to bed around 6:15-6:30 and then you wake around 5AM.  You take a quick nap from 6:20-7 in your car seat as mommy gets brother ready to leave and then on the way to school.

You still LOVE the jumperoo and that is by far the thing that makes you the most happy.  You will jump yourself to sleep even!  One minute you are jumping a hundred miles a minute and the next, your little head is resting on your shoulder and you are out.

You are getting really good at eating with a spoon.  You've tried green beans, peas, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, bananas and peaches so far.  There doesn't seem to be anything that you don't like.  You typically take 4oz bottles every 3 hours and eat food once at school and at dinner time.

You love your big brother and watch him like he is the most interesting thing you've ever seen.  He of course enjoys the audience and tries his hardest to entertain you.  He is already your biggest defender.  If we are wiping your face or not letting you jump, he is the first to come to your defense and tell us what you do or don't want us to be doing.  He's like a little mother bird to you!

You really are starting to enjoy playing with toys and putting them in your mouth.  You constantly try to chew on our fingers and more often than not, have yours in your mouth too.

You are a little over 26" long and weigh around 14 1/2 pounds.  You wear a size 6 months, but they are getting short in the legs, so we'll be switching to 9 months very soon!  You wear a size two diaper and you still fuss each time we put on your hat.

Here are a few of my favorite recent pictures of you Hattie Jo.
