Sea World Adventures

Last weekend, we met up with the Withers family for some cold weather fun at MOA. Owen talked non-stop about Livia and Sophia the whole way there, but then was a shy guy when we got there.  He slowly came out of his shell and has been talking about the girls all week. :)

The fun started at Sea World Adventures
Livia showing Owen and Sophia some cool fish
Glad we were on the other side of the glass!
 Silly faces (except Owen!)
The Mordorski family and Bobby, Livia and Sophia
Owen and Sophia taking a ride in the yellow submarine
 Owen, Sammy Shark and Livi
Then it was off to Build A Bear.  Owen chose a very colorful dinosaur to make.  Here, he is rubbing the dinosaur's heart on his heart so it will be a kind dinosaur.
Next, he rubbed it's heart on his ears so it is a good listener.
Then on his tummy so it likes good food!
Then he gave it a kiss....
And then put it inside his dinosaur.
He was a very big helper and pushed the foot pedal that filled his dinosaur with stuffing.
Doing a "hug test" to see if his dino was squishy enough
After dino got sewed up, he took it to the bath station and got it all ready to take home.
We finished the day with a delicious lunch at KoKomo.  Love these three!

The Gingerbread Crew Hits the Pool

For a long time, we've been talking about renting hotel rooms and having a pool/pizza party with our friends from our former daycare (Gingerbread House Daycare).  After the holidays, we finally made it happen.  The timing couldn't have been more perfect.  It's been so incredibly cold that spending an afternoon by the pool felt wonderful!  Ronda and her grandkids, Rocko and Aja, rented a room too!  The kids had a blast swimming and the adults had a nice chance to catch up.

Liam is AWESOME at swimming with his face in the water

Our Holiday Season

This year has sure flown by.  So many things have happened, so many memories made!  Heidi has been off over the holidays, so we've been home with Owen, playing police officers almost non-stop, so I've neglected the blog.  Here is the Cliff Notes version of our holidays!

Here are few cute pics of Owen at Heidi's the last few days before break.
Always playing police officers with his buddy Kaden!
Putting together a puzzle with Lily
 Jammie day/Christmas party gift exchange
Unfortunately, Owen came home from the Christmas party at daycare saying his friend Seth "frowed up " 2 times and had to go home.  The next morning, Owen was sick and by mid-morning, I was too.  Thankfully, it was a one day flu and it just transitioned to a cold for Owen.

On Christmas Eve morning, we were tired of being cooped up and sick over the weekend, so we went to the MN Zoo.

I am not a bird fan, but doesn't this look warm and tropical?
Paul and Owen checking out a snake
On Christmas Eve, Nana and Papa came over to celebrate with us.  Owen was feeling run-down and a little under the weather still, but we enjoyed a nice dinner and opened really fun gifts!

 Thanks Nana and Papa!
On Christmas morning, we went downstairs to find that Santa had arrived!
Since he was a good boy, Santa brought him some farm equipment, walkie-talkies and the most sought after item this Christmas, a book called Dot the Fire Dog.

His favorite gift was the walkie-talkies, but he sure liked mommy's boxing gloves!

Later in the day, Paul's parents came over to visit.

There is always a little let-down when the holidays are over, the decorations come down, and there aren't any more gatherings to look forward to.  This year was extremely hard for me because Abby's due date was supposed to have been December 27.  I of all people know that due dates aren't necessarily accurate, but when your baby passes away, it's one of the only concrete things that you have.  It's a day that will forever be etched in my mind and I'll always think about what that day could have been and how our lives could have changed that day.  I knew it would be an emotional day for me, so Paul and I got  hotel room downtown, went to a nice dinner at Melting Pot and just broke out of our normal routine for the day.  I received so many notes, cards, and meaningful gifts from friends and family, even a note from a friend's mom who lost a baby 39 years ago and I had no idea, to support me and let us know that they remembered Abby.  We are incredibly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!

Our final celebration of the season was with Auntie Dawn and Uncle Bob yesterday.  They were nice enough to bring Ruby and Oliver with them and Owen was in heaven!  He must've asked me 50 times when they were going to get here (and that was before they arrived at 10:30AM!).

Helping Ruby open her gift
"Cool mom!  It's a police race car!"
"A fire station!  Just what I always wanted!"
Ollie wasn't quite as impressed by it all
Owen, however, was in fire station/police officer heaven! Spoiled kiddo!
All the excitement made for one very sleepy Ruby!

This weekend has been so cold, we've just been staying in.  Tomorrow it is back to reality!  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.  Happy New Year!
