For the last several months, I've been following a story out of Canada about a one year old baby named Hope, who was born with only half a heart. Hope has had some miraculous ups and downs over the past several months. Her mom so eloquently blogs about their journey, waiting for a new heart for Hope. On Tuesday afternoon, Hope took a quick and serious turn for the worse and Amy, Hope's mom, pleaded for prayers on Facebook.
I took Owen aside and told him that there is a baby girl named Hope that feels very sick, so we need to stop playing for a minute and say a prayer for her. His face lit up and he said, "I have an idea! I will call God and tell Him to be with Baby Hope!' He ran to his little kitchen, grabbed his toy phone and said, "Hello God? Can you go be with Baby Hope so she feels better? You can? Okay!" He had a whole conversation, then hung up the phone and said to me, "Baby Hope is going to be okay mom, God is going to be with her. He told me." I was so touched at the conversation I heard Owen have with God.
A few hours after that, God took Hope in His arms and made her heart whole again in heaven. If you'd like to read about Baby Hope, click here http://mendingheartsandbendingknees.blogspot.ca/2013/05/hopes-perfect-heart.html
Please say a prayer for the Koslowski family, as they plan for Hope's funeral on Saturday. My heart aches for them and I cannot fathom the pain they are feeling.
